RECYCLING PROJECT

The recycling project aims at making the most of all the stock of beads, pieces of cloth and chains that the Accessorize Company has accumulated from past collections. The idea is  to compose new pieces using old material. An old pair of earrings transforms into a new  necklace. Two old necklaces are put together in an attempt to form a new one. The outcome is a unique, fresh, and stylish one-off piece of jewellery with character and temperament.

Brand new ideas and designs are born out of old material, which would have been otherwise wasted.

A project that combines both environmental concerns and financial interest.

During 2008 Aliki Stroumpouli worked for the Accessorize Company as the main designer on the Recycling Project.

Accessorize fruity project

The idea was to create a collection which celebrates colour.

Main goal is to attract the eye and awake the senses.

Summer period requires bright and vivid colour trends, as the body gets thirsty for water while the eye is pleased by colour. Vivid, sharp, bright and joyful tones make one want to stare at them and desire them. At the same time, colour can change ones mood and give positive energy. Playful, natural shapes, fruit and vegetable texture, transforms into jewellery.

The process followed is to take close up, and very detailed shots of various fruits and vegetables and then work on the pictures. Intriguing shapes, vibrant colours, tempting texture, fresh images which make an impact.

Using the actual prints, by putting the photographic paper inside clear plastic beads or surfaces would give the required result. Clear plastic gives ice effect, and the notion that fruit is inside water.
